This Policy does not apply to information collected by American Regent offline (i.e., not on or connected with this website).
ARI collects information from you when you provide it to ARI. ARI may also automatically collect certain types of information whenever you interact on this website and when some emails are sent to you. Techniques ARI uses for this purpose may include, for example, maintenance of web server logs and placement of cookies, web beacons and other tracking technologies. Examples of how ARI may use the information collected through these techniques include:
- after you have entered PII into a form or data field on the site, cookies enable the website to ‘remember' that information;
- cookies and other passive information collection technologies enable ARI to deliver content that is tailored to your interests and preferences based on your past activity on the website; and
- cookies and other passive information collection technologies enable ARI to compile aggregate statistics concerning use of the website, analyze trends, and otherwise administer and improve the website.
IP Addresses and Web Server Logs. An IP address is a unique identifying number that is automatically assigned to any computer connected to the Internet. Depending on the nature of your Internet connection, the IP address may change each time you connect or may always be the same number for that computer. ARI reserves the right to log IP addresses for system administration, security, statistical analysis, demographic analysis of website use, and other functions.
Cookies. Cookies or browser cookies are text files that are stored on a website user's computer by the website. Cookies allow ARI to help make your web experience better and to conduct website analysis and website performance reviews. Additionally, cookies can tell ARI how and when pages in a website are visited and by how many people. Most web browsers are set up to accept cookies, although you can reset your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. Note, however, that some portions of ARI’s websites may not work properly if you refuse cookies.
Flash Cookies. Certain features of this website may use local stored objects (or flash cookies) to collect and store information about your preferences and navigation to, from, and on the website. Flash cookies are not managed by the same browser settings as are used for browser cookies.
Plugins. This website may also use social plugins (e.g., the Facebook "Like" button) to enable you to easily share information with others. When you visit the website, the operator of the social plugin may be able to place a cookie on your computer, enabling that operator to recognize individuals who have previously visited ARI’s website. If you are logged into the social media website (e.g., Facebook) while browsing on ARI’s website, the social plugins allow that social media website to receive information that you have visited ARI’s website. The social plugins also allow the social media website to share information about your activities on ARI’s website with other users of their social media website. For example, Facebook Social Plugins may allow Facebook to show your Likes and comments on ARI’s pages to your Facebook friends. Facebook Social Plugins also may allow you to see your friends' Facebook activity on ARI’s website. ARI does not control any of the content from social media plugins. For more information about Facebook Social Plugins and other social media tools, and for more information about other social plugins from other social media websites, you should refer to those websites' privacy and data sharing statements.
Web Beacons. On certain website pages or emails, ARI may utilize analytics or common Internet technology sometimes called a "web beacon" (also known as an "action tag" or "clear GIF technology"). Web beacons help analyze the effectiveness of websites by measuring, for example, the number of visitors to a website or how many visitors clicked on key elements of a website.
Web beacons, cookies and other tracking technologies do not automatically obtain PII about you. Only if you voluntarily submit PII, such as by registering or sending emails, can information about your use of ARI’s websites be linked to identifying information.
Response to "Do Not Track" Signals and Similar Mechanisms. Certain website browsers and other programs may be used to signal your preferences to ARI about how or whether ARI or third parties may collect PII about your online activities. Currently, ARI does not respond to such signals or mechanisms.

ARI uses this consolidated information to help design better ARI websites and products, to communicate information to you, to enhance ARI’s marketing and research activities, and to facilitate other business functions.
